Mike Rooth

Mike Rooth is a Freelance Art Mercenary working out of his studio (or ‘living room’, as it is more commonly known) in Oakville, Ontario.

Rooth was a full time illustrator of children’s books, magazine articles, cover art, short stories, and educational graphic novels for over a decade before he started chasing after his comic book dreams by creating pinups, mini-comics, and cover artwork for both indie creators and mainstream publishers alike: Kill Shakespeare (IDW), Ben Templesmith’s The Squidder (IDW/44FLOOD), Savage Sword of Conan (Dark Horse Comics), and Nailbiter, The Wicked And The Divine, and Intersect (Image Comics), as well as Canada’s own Captain Canuck (Comely Comics).

He has also worked on officially licensed sketch card contracts for Marvel, DC, and The Walking Dead properties, and since 2012 has created numerous poster/program art for many popular North American comic book conventions (Including HAL-CON 2014 and 2015!).

Rooth is currently working on self publishing his own comic- a horror story set in the Viking Age called Widowswake.
